Writer, Speaker, Wife, Mother, Woman, Human
My name is Jacqueline J. Andrews, and wielding the pen is my superpower! I have always loved to write. I published my first book in 2011, but it took 10 years for me to embrace the true scribe within. I love language and ALL the words! And while I am quite capable of producing a well-written piece of literature, I also enjoy playing with vernacular and bending the rules. Because I can. See what I just did there? I’ve spent many years teaching college students how to become better writers and avid readers. At this point in my life, however, I just want to share what’s inside of my brain with the world!
I am officially a part of the “Aunties” club. But I definitely believe that aging is a gift and that something happens to most of us after we turn the big 4-0. If you are still in your 20s or 30s, just you wait! Life takes an interesting turn and inhibitions start to slowly disappear, along with any kind of tolerance for everyday foolery. Remember your grandmother and great aunts who would literally say anything to anybody? Yeah – they definitely embraced their grown woman status. I won’t be that crass, but I do feel a sense of power once my fingers meet the keyboard (insert evil laugh here)!
So here is what I’ll be serving up for you in my blogs. I will write about things that inspire me, as well as things that annoy me. I will write about the great things in our society and the awful things that people don’t want to talk about. Some days my writing will be light and whimsical, while other days it may be deep and philosophical. You never know what you will get! You might laugh out loud at my random musings or take a moment to seriously ponder them. At any rate, I am super excited about this journey and I am glad that you are coming along for the ride!
